I just downloaded some MS updates this afternoon and am having problems now.

    Using win98 2nd ed, IE 5.5. downloaded

    D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter - V. 5.373.0119.2000

    810030: Microsoft VM Security Update

Intel Corporation Display Driver Released on October 01 2001

I quickly took the intel display driver out of the startup menu, and it isn't running.

Now my problem is that IE jumps a lot (looks like it is flashing), and I can't use the "right-click" on a link menu to open a new browser window. The new window doesn't open. Also some ads that formerly just moved (The ones on yahoo) now flicker and flash - it's very annoying.

    Help!!

try clearing your cache, then try the right menu thing

there is a bug in ie

as for the windows moving, is your fan on?? LOL

perhaps try re-downloading the video card drivers from the manufacturer web site.

I think it's the graphics controller. What I took out is a user interface, but when I looked in the system information it shows the intel graphics controller. duh.

Isn't there a shortcut for restoring I had before? Seems I recall doing that on a couple of occasions when I screwed up like this.

Right click on your desktop, go to properties, settings, advanced, then display adapter.

    Gib
.....And miles to go before I sleep.
