I called the CA they told me it has been paid (3 accounts) I called the CRA (TU) and they start giving dates and contact names at the CA that told them it WASN'T paid. I know I should be doing all this in writing (I do all disputes in writing), who do I write to now and what should I say (other than drop dead). Kellie
KHM, I don't know if I read your post correctly, but I will give it a shot. You state the CRA won't show the collection as paid, but the collection agency was paid for 3 accounts? Try disputing the inaccurate information. I wouldn't say it was paid, because they will verify it as a paid collection. They may go so far as to flag the account should you try to disptue it later. If the collection agency was paid, they may not respond to the dispute, meaning the tradelines would have to come off your report as unverifiable. One thing that worked for me is when I rehabed my credit I called no one. I did everything by mail. It helped me tremendously when I filed my small claims suit, and the CRA settled and deleted everything. Even things I didn't dispute and were 100% accurate. I hope this answers your question.
I disputed it (in writing) as "Not Mine" the CA verified it as mine, and also verified there still being a balance. When I call the CA they say yep, its been paid and no one from TU ever called us about it. When I call TU they say " we talked to Mrs. XX (who IS an employee) and they verified the name SSN# address and balance of this account." I just called the CA and they said "oh its paid and we report every month to TU" I said its been paid off for 3 months and by you verifying this account is against the law." I asked for the legal dept.'s address and get put on the phone with a "supervisor". He asks how he can help, I said all I want is the legal dept. address, he said "WE DON'T HAVE A LEGAL DEPT." Too funny. Off to the courthouse I go! I'm just going after them for reporting a balance when its been paid. hopefully they'll settle by removing the tradelines. Kellie
