Thread: A Paid Collections

I paid a collections account in July of 2002. I just got a copy of my credit report and seen this account on my cr as unpaid. What are my options I have a copy of the check? Can I sue to get them to take this off my credit report. What is the best way to get this off??

Dispute it as not mine with the CRA first. Keep it simple to start. If you send a copy of the check, they only have to mark it as paid. Not good.

You only want to say it was paid as a final, last, dieing resort.
