    Paid 50 dollars by check.
First usa did not credit it.
I have sent them 3 copies of the front an back of the cancelled check.
Each time they say the copie is not clear enough for them to research the matter.
How do I ever get them to credit this payment???????

They never take it off the report when we make it right so why should we take it off the docket when they do?

    Re: Paid-never credited

Conference call a bank rep and a First USA rep. Maybe the bank rep can convince them (maybe he/she can provide some account/transaction prinouts that only they can view. When I worked for a bank, I did this on occasion when neccesary.

This is a big problem with banks still microfiching check copies. Perhaps you could have the bank prepare some sort of letter on their letterhead proving the check was cashed.

How about sending 1 USA a copy of my checking account statement with the check listed on it?

    Re: Paid-never credited

Usually two things have taken place in a situation like this. Either the money has been unapplied, or the money has been misapplied to another account. That's why they're needing the back of the check; It sounds like your check has been misapplied.

On the back of the check usually there will be printed the account number to which the funds were applied. Get out a magnifying glass and look at your copy, comparing your account number with any similiar numbers printed on the check. If you can't read the numbers on the copy you're sending, it will be tough for the clerical folks to do the same with a faxed copy of what you have.

Someone out there probably has a fifty dollar payment credited to their account, which will have to be reversed off once the company finds out the payment really belongs to you.

Unapplied checks are a lot easier to fix. Companies have a log where they list the amt, name on check, number, etc. Just because they don't know where the money is supposed to go, doesn't mean they won't cash the check!
