I have a judgement on file its from Providian and NCC is the collector. I've been paying this account forever (100.00 each month on time to the collector) in dec 07 this account will be paid in full paid every dime on this debt and them some. I called NCC about 2 months ago to offer a settlement (I was promised at the begining I could do this at anytime and they would settle the debt for 50% or better of what was owed) and now they say they can't do this so I'll continue to pay until its paid in full in Dec of this year. What I want to know is my Equifax doesn't show it as a Judgement it says orginial bal 4543. current bal of 1093. and date assigned 6/1/03 and date reported 2/1/07 and date of last activity 6/1/01 And my transunion show it as a civil judgement for 4738.00 date reported 9/2005 no date filed only gives a case number and nothing else . My question is should I dispute this or just continue to pay or wait until its paid and then dispute it. Whats the best way to increase my scores and get rid of this monster. TIA

Go ahead and dispute the tradeline. Worst that can happen is that it will be verified.

Did Providian obtain the judgment or did they assign the payment rights to NCC who then filed a Complaint and subsequent judgment? This is important in regard as to how to attack the aforesaid tradelines.

Ncc is who the judgement is with, and that is who I pay my monthly payments to.
