I have recently received my Equifax and TU credit reports (still waiting on experion). I seem to have two outstanding items (utilities from years ago). One is from SBC and has a different collection agency listed on the two reports. my Equifax report states the collection agency as RMA with the following info:

    reported 11/99
    assigned 07/99
    date of balance 11/99
    status date 11/99
    original amount 282
    balance amount 282

now my TU report has the same debt listed with some different info it reads as follows:
collection agency: American AGC (which I can not find info for online).
    updated 04/2002
    placed 04/2002
    balance 381
    most owed 282

Now these are the same debt but appear to be two different CAs. Can I assume that American AGC now holds the account since it has the most recent dates, and if so what do I do?

Now the final reported account only appears on my Equifax report and reads as follows:

    Client name ameren UE
CA: Consumer collection Management (can't find them either)
    assigned 7/98
    date of balance 09/98
    status date 09/98
    original amount 219
    balance amount 229

I really just want to pay these but have no idea who to send money to or what to do. I would like them deleted off my reports also if possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wanting to pay is great. Paying without planning and thinking is not. Do NOT pay the wrong person. You could pay and get none of the balance of the debt off your reports.

Wait until you get Experian to see how that is reported.

Then you should investigate who owns the debt, what evidence thay have that it belongs to you, what the original balance was, what fees and interests have been added to it.

You do that through validation letters sent to each of the listings on your report.

At the same time, I would dispute each listing with the CRA to make them investigate the listings they claim to have as well.

Make certain you demand proof that you owe the alleged debt, and that THEY are legally allowed to collect on the debt. Then you can move forward and make decisions on whether or not to pay, until then you are in the dark.
