I thought I remember reading that PG gives you 3 months for $1. If that's true, the cheapskates have now lowered it to only 2 months!!

When the advertisement still read $1 over the past few days, I kept trying to join, but I kept getting an error message stating that I must call. I called and got a VERY inept sounding woman. There was no way in heck that I was going to give her my cc info!!

Well, I finally was able to join online tonight, but the trial period is only for 2 months.

it doesn´t matter. You can re-join again after the trial period using a diferent CC and/or e-mail.

Is this something new or if we signed up in January will it still be the 3 months? Thanks

I joined back on 12/14/03. I plan to cancel before 3/14/04. How easy/hard is it to cancel PG? A couple of sites that I had signed up for a trial of 30-days were not as easy as I thought when it came to cancelling. They tried the hard sell when I called. One of them even disconnected the line when I kept saying that I did not want to continue.(at least I didn't hang up the phone on my end.)

I'm hoping to not have that problem with PG.

I decided to pay the $90 for a year. It's worth it to track the changes and get all the soft inquiries. So I can't say how hard it is to cancel.

I paid the dollar for the test drive this morning. If I don't cancel within 60 days it's now $120 a year.

"IF" I let them charge me the other $89.00...I'm afraid that they will CHANGE THE RULES MID-STREAM...others have got NASTY-GRAMS about their UNLIMITED HAS LIMITS

I haven't gotten anything and I've been using our system for several months. It was in December that I paid the $89, I was pulling multiple every day before that.

They do not charge the $1. Only authorize it at the signup. By the way I have had PG for over a year and I have not paid a penny.

Hey, Guys/Gals. Hopefully this will clear up a couple of items that have been discussed on this string.

    PrivacyGuard has 2 different web sites: www.privacyguard.com & www.privacyguard.com/frank
The first one used to offer 3months/$1 charge to your c.c.(not pre-auth)(3 reports & 1 FAKOscore) & $89.99 annual to continue, but now offer 2months/$1charge to your c.c. (not pre-auth)(3 reports & 1 FAKOscore) & $119.99 annual to continue.
The second one used to & still does offer 3months/$1charge to your c.c.(not pre-auth)(3 reports & 3 FAKOscores) & $119.99 annual to continue.

To cancel: You must call in to cancel & check online the next day to see if you are still able to log in. If you can still log in, then they haven't cancelled your acct. You will have to call back to cancell & tell them "no thank you" to everything they offer you to stay with them for a little longer.

$1 charge: They do actually charge $1 to your c.c. unless they had came into some type of technical difficulty, in which case you will not get charged the $1 & they will automatically cancel your trial membership at the end of the 3months.

All of the above is based on personal experience & info from cust.serv reps.

Personally speaking Privacy Guard's membership under www.privacyguard.com/frank is well worth the annual $119.99 for 3up-to-date reports(everyday) & 3 FAKO scores verses paying MYFICO $9.99 per report&FICOscore per bureau. When I need a real FICOscore, I do pay the $9.99 for the report&score.

Come on... That intro is such a bargain. If you like the product, have some integrity, pay the measly $89.

Guys, you have to open the account with a virtual credit card (Example Citibank and MBNA) set a $1 limit. then open the PG account and if accepted close the virtual account. You wont be charged a penny and do not need to call to cancel at the end of the three moths(Or whatever) trial period.

I probably will let them charge me the $89 X 2 (his & hers)

CONDITIONAL ON UNLIMITED HAS NO LIMITS!!!

    Thanks for the "/frank" link!

I just ended my 90 days yesterday, called them on day 90, cancelled both mine and my husbands, and rejoined today. But damn glad I found this link here!

I was worried because as others have found, the normal deal at the PG url is now only 60 days. Blech!

Today is day 1 of 90. Woo hoo!

(oh, and I'm not argueing the price vs value of paying them. Its just that I need to put that money towards a few court filings this week!)

    Re: Re: Privacy Guard Changes

the privacyguard.com/frank link appears to have the 2months for $1 and only 1 fako score now. can someone verify this or do i just not see where you get the 3 scores one.
