    Providian+Orchard

I noticed (after accidentally clicking a popup ad) that Providian is offering the Orchard subprime MasterCard on their getsmart.com website.

For anyone who still sees Providian as a one-stop subprime credit source...

For what it's worth, I really like Orchard (now Household). I got an Orchard card about a year and a half ago and then started having some problems and I was 30 days late quite a number of times and 90 days late at least twice, yet they're reporting it as never late. Also, at one point I was behind and the late fees and over limit fees were starting to stack up and they raised my credit line to cover the current balance on the account without my even asking, so the over limit fees stopped and it helped me get back on track. I can't say enough good things about them right now.

Hmmph!!!! They must really really really like you....because I have had an Orchand bankcard for a year....cannot get a cl increase, spoke to manager, wrote to manager, bitched and did everything I could.....ranted and raved about how in that year's time all payments were on time (paid more than 1x per month), did not go over my limit...etc, etc, etc....blah, blah, blah, to no avail!!!
It's not going to always be like this.......

LOL... maybe that's your problem. Try paying late for a while and go over the credit limit... maybe that'll get you a CL increase;)

I paid them in full every month and they sold me to a shylock outfit called eMerge. From what I hear those bastards are worse than loansharks. I have yet to see a complimentary post about eMerge. Wen I spoke with their CSR's right after the sale I got the feeling this was a major screw job so I immediatelky paid off the card and closed it.

I agree with Kimmie W, I have had them for two years now everytime I call them and ask for a credit line increase they check say ahhhhh you always pay on time and even pay more then your min payment which means you can pay more, and yes MR XXXXXXX we can increase your limit by 100 dollars all you have to do is pay a 25 fee for that.........I tell themm geesh I think I will pass on that wonderful offer your making me so my limit is still at just 450 dollars.
