I have an old account that has a satisfactory status with a $0 balance issued from Axsys/Fingerhut. Thing is Fingerhut closed and then reopened independently and no longer uses Axsys they now use CIT. My credit report still shows the Axsys account as opened, last updated 10/02. Should I persue having this account marked closed or leave it alone? What impact will that have on my credit? It is not my oldest account, nor my highest credit limit account. I have five other credit card accounts all have positive status.

What effect would it appear to have on your debt to available credit ratio?

The real question is this a positive tradeline or orginally negative and then you paid it off. I had Fingerhut removed off all 3 of credit reports. Also if you have a Fingerhut and a Axsys that's a duplicate account. Dispute both they may both fall off.
