Questions - First Val. letter

    Hello to all,

I have a few questions about how to proceed with my letters.

I hope these do not seem too simple. I am just beginning and I have looked for answers elsewhere but I have not seen any regarding these specific things.

    1. Does anyone have the emails for specific people at all three credit bureaus? I was just wondering if it matters who I send these to.

    2. If I send my disputes by email should I still copy the exact format of the provided letters and just input my personal info?

    3. As I am choosing to remove things should I pick the items that seem the easiest to remove first or the ones that are simply the most damaging?

    4. Do I put all my disputes in one letter?

    5. Should send validation to the CA first and wait for a response before I send a dispute to the CRA?

    6. Once I have sent the Val. letter how long do they have to respond?

    7. One of the collection agencies seems to be a law office - should I still send the same Validation letter to them? Do I need to be more careful with that account?

I apologize for the length of this letter and I hope the questions are not too stupid. I just don't want to make any mistakes.

thank you to anyone who is willing to help.

    Beth

    1. No specific ppl, just go to the site and click dispute

    2. *(see answer #1)* I wouldnt suggest email disputes, you want a paper trail and proof they recieved your dispute, in case they violate your rights, you got proof and can sue.

    3. The rule of thumb is to work in order of most damaging to least then inquires.

    4. If you put too many in one letter, you risk being brushed off by CRA and your dispute request deemed frivilous, better to do no more than 5 at once.

    5. Your decision, but I would through it against the wall to see what sticks and go with disputing with CRA first, may get lucky and get deletes and if some come back verified then go with val. to CA.

    6. In the letter state 30 days then send another more stronger letter etc. your last letter of validation should state no longer than 15 days.

    7. I dont see why not, I would see if they can validate, but again your choice.

    Hope I helped. :)

5*No dispute with CRA when you get the green card.
6*As long as you give them.
7*They are still a CA so same letter.
8*Why ? They aren't any better than any other CA!

I've seen a couple people recommend disputing with the CA, then upon receipt of the green card, disputing with the CRA.

    Why is this?

    and

Why must you wait for the green card to dispute with the CRA? Why wouldn't you just send both letters out on the same day?

This is correct and there is good reason for it.

ok, I'm still a newbie and I'm still flying high off my first paid collection deleted as a result of sending a validation letter so let me try my hand in answering why it's good to dispute with the CRAs after you receive the green cards since that's exactly what I did today.

The reasoning behind it is that (1) you may be able to catch the CRA in a violation if they come back and verify the disputed item before the CA does. (2) While the CA is verifying and the CRA gets the dispute and they begin to verify, there's a good chance that it will get deleted because the CA is still verifying and may not get a response to the CRA within the 30 day window.

Ok vets am I on the right track here?????
