Remind me how this works again?

Just started monitoring my credit and an alert popped up from "AMS Serving Group" which dropped my Equifax score 68 points! It says I never paid the first month's payment on a student loan, but all my student loans are in forbearance.

The amount doesn't look right and even if it is right, it should be in forbearance for the next year.

How do I make this go away in a hurry?

    Contact the data furnisher.

Explain the situation, get their full name and contact information along with an address. Follow-up with a letter detailing your conversation with their agreeing to delete the reporting.

Called them and they said "Oh, we must have missed that one. Our bad!" They sent me a nice note on their letterhead explaining that it was their screw-up and agreed to correct it asap.

That's pretty good service and I didn't even have to ask them for anything. I'll call that a win.

Good job. Nice to see there were no issues.
