    I was just curious...
    If I have a paid collections on my CR, can I try to have it removed or does it belong there for 7 years? It's such a hassle dealing with the credit bureaus that I wonder if it's even worth disputing. It's a valid debt, but it IS a negative line on my report. Any suggestions?
    Thanks =0)

    I am told that lots of paid collections get removed because collection agency doesn't bother to respond. So I would dispute it.

    I agree with Killer, I had 2 paid collections and a paid bounced check removed this way. Some Collection companies (like IC systems) seem to really want to punish you, and continue to verify, but for the most part I believe that they just want their money, so once you pay, they wont verify. I guess they want to spend their time pursuing unpaid debts.

    Also how old is it?? The older the better you would think.

    It's from 99 and I paid it just recently, like in August. I think I'll go ahead and dispute.

    Thanks everyone for your input!

    definitley dispute it. For any balance that is paid (zero blance), always dispute it first as NEVER LATE.

    I would wait until 3-4 months have past and then dispute it.
