I sent providian a "nice" letter asking them to remove a 30 day late and they sent me a letter saying to send a copy of all 3 of my credit reports showing the late! I am planning on ignoring this and sending a validation letter, followed by the estoppel. They did mark it as disputed on my EXP report however. Has anyone had this happen to them with Providian? Why on earth would l need to send them MY credit reports, the ones that I paid for? Geez.

Validation letters are only for CAs, however some people have sent them to the original creditor, but they are not legally obligated to do anything in regards to validation letters, only CAs are.

The same principle applies to estoppel letters.

I knew that already! What was I thinking? In that case, what do I do next? How do I respond? They have already confirmed it once when I disputed it with the CRA's.

Send them a letter asking for a full audit of the account. Check out the FCRA, section 623 mostly. They are required to provide you with proof of what they are reporting to the CBs, and have 30 days to do so. They should also notate the account as in dispute during this time on all of your reports.

    Good luck.
