I remember reading some "not so great" stories about them on sites like eopinions.com, ecomplaints.com or consumeraffairs.com and it totally veered me away from them.

There are a lot of sites that offer advice on negotiating on the price, checking the quality etc. I'd just do some more research. Maybe check with your BBB too.

I think just about any of them can be sneaky if you aren't a savvy consumer and know what you're doing.

    Just read the fine print.

Credit is easy to get, but I do not know what they require. Personal experience is that they are easy,

Qualiy has slipped a lot. When they first started, they had a store near me and we bought a lot of their stuff which was reasonable in price and quality. The last few years has seen a real slip in quality.

You would be better off watching for the big sales at Rhodes and Havertys.

We got a Rooms To Go card about 4 months ago for 0% interest until July 2003 and if it's not paid off they don't sock you with the accumulated interest like other cards do! They just charge you interest on what is left on the card after July 2003. We needed furniture for our daughter so we thought we'd try thinking we'd be instantly rejected but we got approved for 5000.00! Our only motive for this was we expect to pay off all the furniture by July 2003 and then only use it if we can buy something to pay off immediately cause their interest rate is outrageous...I believe it is like 21-23%! I don't like the fact that you can't look at your account online and pay online but that's ok for us since we're saving on the interest.
