I pulled my credit report a few months ago and noticed that I have seven listings, for seven student loans, from 1993-1994. I'm trying to get these listing removed. My last contact with Sallie Mae was in 2000, well over seven years ago. I sent a dispute to each of the credit reports and the I only received a notice that the listings were verified. I included all of the information about my last payment, the fact that these are over seven years old, and requested that they be removed. I then sent a certified letter to Sallie Mae asking for an explanation as to why the credit report lists my last contact with them as 2004 instead of 2000. I asked for an account summary showing my contact after 2000. They responded with a very short letter saying that they were not my current loan servicer and to contact them. What should my next step be? I have let the credit reporting agencies know that the listing is incorrect. I have tried to contact Sallie Mae to get this resolved. I am not sure what to do next.

First off are these paid in full? if they are then I would send out another CRRR letter to all 3 cra's and Sallie Mae in order to build a paper trail for any possible litigation. Doing so will enable you to prove your case in court. Send the CRA documentation proving your case and keep copies for yourself. If they want to ignore you then their ignorance will have to come at price.

Were these loans in good standing and paid off?

If I remember correctly, Sallie Mae is a federal loan, and can not be charged off in bankruptcy, so I doubt they'll agree to remove them if they were charged off and/or late payments?

Sallie Mae sold these loans years ago. My last contact with them was the spring of 2000. My point is that these are over 7 years old from the last contact with them and they should not still be listed on my credit report.
