    Hi,
Well i didnt have to wait till Monday,I called today and talked to some guy.He is going to covert the $5,000 gold card into the $6,000 silver card today..He told me to give it to Monday and call back to have a conversion into the Platinum select.(without air mileage) I guess i confused him earlier today about the combining..He was closing my gold and putting the silver into platinum select world..,But after all the confusion i now have a silver worth $11,000..Can't wait till monday now..As i told you before i have a Regular platinum select with 8.40%..So i would need to convert this to a reg. platinum as well correct? For some reason i have dividend written down, and thats not the one i have now..,But things seem to be moving along smoothly..Thanx Again

congrats! combined them all into one big fat limit under platinum select for the best possible APR citi offers. :)

dividend usually has 2-4 more % points higher..

Sam,first I got a Plat.Sel. then a AA Gold, then combined them into the Plat.Sel.Now I applied for the Sony Plat.Sel. Do you think that was a mistake? Thanks.

Well platinum select is harder to get. However, if you get any card , then no. I would have applied for the AA silver or AA gold again imo, after combining and a period of time.

My plan is to combined my two plat's when the BT offer runs out in february, then apply for two AAdvantage again.

Crap at the current rate of the airline industry, they'll have to be giving these cards away like candy soon.

Ok, I already have two citi card (Dividend and Plat Select) 10.5K each. I applied again
for the Silver AA and a week later got a letter by mail telling me they can not approve me because I already have the max number of Citibank cards/ Credit they grant for an individual. They also put two hard inquires on my Equifax report!!.

So Sam, probably It can happen to you if apply again.

geo, why did you not combine the two plats first??

I had the drivers edge. They give you like 2% towards your next new car purchase. Max 3 years, basically charge $75,000 on the card, and you'll get 1500$ credit towards any new car.

    Ok,
I called them back today and i spoke with a lady this time..I asked her if the 2 cards were combined and processed and she said yes..I aksed her to convert my Aadvantage silver to the platinum select regular card and she said ok.Would be the same account # and card will be here in a week..Asked what my A.P.R. 14.74%..Asked to lower it she was going to but said i have to wait for the first billing cycle..Sam i also have a credit balance on my card for $7.08 i asked from what. She said the gold card conversion..Shit i only had it maybe for 5 and paid no annual fee..I left it at that..It just doesn't make seince..I hope they dont charge me coco bucks for the annual fee now..Final question..How long should i wait to ask to have this new platinum select card combined with my old one with the low rate of 8.40%?? I figure i should give it some time now..

I've done some crazy brave things, but citi has never told me "NO", or "We're going to take back our line of credit NYAH".

Suck in your gut, and try it, their customer support is to SERVICE YOU, and they are top notch.

Drink a beer, pick up the phone, and do it, Bill...

Sam: I do not combine because I preffer two diferent cards. I used one of them for a balance transfer at 2.9% for 9 months and the other one for daily purchases.

Btw. 10.5K it's a very good limit for a card, that's enough for me.

    Re: Citi Aadvantage Update

I called to combine my new silver and gold AA cards today. I asked the CSR to convert it to the regular Platinum Select. She then said I could get the Dividend Platinum Select with an APR of 2.5% less than the regular Platinum Select. I took the Dividend with the lower APR, 1% cash back, and the 2.9% BT offer for 9 months. Sound good?
Thanks again to everyone for sharing this wonderful information on Citibank.
