Re: Sears Gold Mastercard/Citibank

Ok guys,
Here is something that I need some advice on. I recently requested a new Sears Gold Mastercard credit card to be sent out because my old card was worn out (I've had the account since 2002). I requested a new card to be sent out on April 21. Low and behold, I checked my credit reports and found two inquiries from Citibank/Sears on April 22, 1 on Equifax and 1 on TransUnion. I just called their customer service and spoke with an account manager that told me it was the law that anytime a new card is requested, they must pull a credit report to make sure there is on fraud involved with this. So now, I have a hard inquiry on each report dinging my score. Is this even legal? I know the agreement states a creditor you do business with can pull a report at anytime for most any reason, but does that only mean soft inquiries? Further, wouldn't I be able to bring suit for degrading my credit score and hampering my ability to apply for other credit? Advice is much appreciated!

FOOLS PATRIOT ACT IS THE SCAPE-GOAT
You are an "EXISTING" customer they have PP...BUT THE FOOLS PATRIOT ACT does not require them to pull a HARD or TWO
