Hello everyone. First let me introduce myself before I show my nice new newbie colors (lol):

I'm Pam, Female, 36 living in GA. To make a long story short. I was widowed due to violence in early 94 after a couple of trials etc. I was standing around 27, widowed with a 6 month old child. Unfortunately I hit the stores! Fast forward...I'm now 36, a full time employee and mother trying to make a dollar out of fifteen cents.

So now I want to try to stop being a renter and become a home owner by the end of NEXT year. I pull my report. At the time I didn't know anything about the 7 year rule etc. etc.

I'm a gemini so now I'm obsessed with seeing what I can do about my credit. I so far have received my Equifax.

No foreclosures, or repossesions or judgements. YET I have
8 Charged off Accounts closed by creditors
1 Account Transferred or Solt with a R4
    2 Collection Accounts
2 Accounts closed at consumers request (I paid them off and closed the accounts)
My Car note which is a I2 currently
2 R1 Credit cards from Capital One and Household Credit.

    I know I know I know

So now here's the question. I also have:

    1 Wrong Address
1 MCI worldcom collection acct I don't know who that belongs to
The total it says is owed on my car is off by over 3,000 (I owe 3,000 less!!)

And all of the charged off account closed credit cards were opened in like 95 and last activity is in 96 - so is it time for these to GO based on the 7 yrs law.

    An Example:

    Childrns PL/Cbusa Date Opened: 5/95, Date of last Activity: 9/96 Payment history: 2 times 30 days, 1 time 60 days, 4 times 90+ late, Previous status: 3/97 R5, 2/97 R5, 1/97 - R5 Date Reported 1/03

Sooooo I know someone posted about us asking the questions but I'd like to get some feedback about that stuff above.

Thanks for reading my long post!

    Hi Pam ~

No offense, but I think you've got some major work ahead of you....

Believe me.... Start reading and learning and then start writing letters...

Yes I know. I have been reading and I will continue to read.

My tale is a cautionary one. Don't think cause you change States and they don't contact you and you've 'moved' on in your life that things just disappear.

    CHECK YOUR REPORTS!!!

Hey Pam welcome aboard, I like you am a newbie with very same problem! In the few days I've been active I've been reading and ASKING lots of questions. On every question I've asked, the people have great in responding.

The only advice I will give (this same advice I'm heeding) is, "GET STARTED"! Start with the simple stuff FIRST, such as obsolete items. Then go from there! Good luck, I know everything will go well for you.
