http://www.military.com/Resources/R...LDIERS_AND_SAILORS_CIVIL_RELIEF_ACT_SSCRA.HTM I just learned about this not too long ago. I know a person who just recently joined the Army with about $9K in debt with three different credit cards.. His APR ranged from 16-19.5% He used the SSRA and got all three credit cards to lower the APR down to 5.6% THATS FRIGGIN WONDERFUL!!!!! if any of you are military and have debt incurred before joining the Military I would check this out..
here is another link that spells out what the ACT is about http://huachuca-www.army.mil/usag/sja/legalassistance/milissues/sscra.htm
Yep, but there are certain stipulations about this. I believe you have to have incurred the debt during your duty in the service. I can remember when my husband was in the Navy we tried to get some debts lowered and because he incurred them prior to the military it didn't apply. That sucked!
