I've had my MBNA card for about 5 years now. Lot's of lates up until about a year ago or so. About 6 months ago, I lost my card and reported it to MBNA. No there are two tradelines for the account, but both have duplicate derogator information for the payment history. If I could get the historyremoved from the lost card, I was thinking I could then dispute hte history for the new card....saying that I couldn't have made that mayment late...I never had the card then!!! Should I dispute to the CRA saying that I didn't have the stolen card? What would you suggest for a strategy to remove the negative tradeline. I see this situation as having some wiggle room for me to work with...and I'd liek to take advantage of it.

    Thanks
    Brian

Stolen/ lost cards with derog info stays on report for 7 years along with the new card thereby giving you two tradelines. However Stolen /lost card with a clean record drop off after 2 years. In my own case I disputed the lates with Chase. They agreed to remove the lates. However both the old and the new tradeline were deleted from Experian.
