Strategy for Tiny Charge-off

In January of 2003 I was laid off with a week's notice. In that time, I paid off the entire existing balance and then handed my card in. I just pulled my credit report and it shows that US Bancorp charged off $86 in cab fees related to work expenses. I've looked over many of the strategies listed here, but was wondering what would be best for this situation. Should I proceed down the validation route, or try a phone call first? I have outstanding credit with the exception of this recent charge-off so I am looking for deletion. Any ideas/links to other examples that I missed?

US Bancorp is the OC? If that's the case, they don't HAVE to validate per the FDCPA. Was the card in your name? What was your true responsibility? Should you have been listed as an Authorized User? If so, you aren't responsible for the $86.
