Just wanted to share with the crew out there what has happened to me, in the hopes of encouraging others. I started this credit repair quest in February with scores in the mid to high 500's. Equifax was 599. Getting there was my own fault although MBNA helped by committing what should be considered fraud against me - but I digress.

Following the advice of the postings here (especially the Hall of Famers - you know who you are), I have disputed and validated my way to an 803 on the Equifax in seven months! I immediately applied for a GM Card online and got approved in seconds.

Incredible feeling, I have to tell you. I still have a few more battles with the 2 remaining CRAs and maybe some CAs (possibly in court), but I'm hoping to have it all cleaned up shortly after the new year.

No hardcore advice to give. Just wanted to encourage everyone out there to keep reading this board and stay at it. It works!

Congrats:) I started my journey back in May also with scores in the low to mid 500s. I've been at it for 3 months now, but I am well into the 600 club now with scores between 640 and 670 and I just got approved for a Chase Platinum card:) I still have work ahead of me, but I've taken a bit of a break for the time being to get approved for a mortgage. As soon as we close on the 22nd I'll start working on my reports again.

    Congrats again:)

Thanks for sharing. It is encouraging to me to hear about others' succes. Especially when the starting point is near to where I started from. 7 months is GREAT! I talked to someone here the other day who did it in 2 years and I thought that was GREAT too!

Congrats to you too! I've been at it for about 3 months also and haven't checked scores lately. Of course, when I first started, I didn't have the benefit of this board, so I probably lost some time doing things the stupid way.
