Can anyone advise on what kind of credit you need with T-Mobile?

    Thanks

I was approved for T-Mobile with no delinquencies, one unpaid medical < $200 and a score of about 650 in 2001. Call them at 1-888-STREAMS and ask one of their reps about their score qualifiers. If you can't make it without putting down a deposit, I believe they charge $200 which you will get back at the end of the year.

They are by far, one of the best providers of Wireless service in the U.S. overall. Not just network quality, but access to online features (on phone), customer service, and respect for the customer. Don't get me started on Sprint or AT&T. Stay away!! AllTel is quite good and there are other providers that piggy back on the network of the big three. Tracphone and Virgin Wireless are options if you would rather go for a prepaid phone.

    Hope my comments help.

T Mobile is strange. I applied with them when they were Voicestream. They wanted me to put down $500
because of my credit. I never had to put down anything with the other providers so they must think theyre special. On that very day, I went to Verizon and they approved me without no down payment.

syd did you have any negatives ? if so what were they and what was your score. See my thing is I don't want to waste and inquiry only to find out Verizon wants me to put down $500.

I had to put down $125 with Sprint - I have a charge off, a settlement, a BK, a collection account which is currently in dispute....

I think it was verizon that wanted $400.....

my hubby less than one year out of bankruptcy was able to get voicestream(now T Mobile) in the summer of 2001 with no deposit. I was shocked:) We have been voicestream/T Mobile custumers for 1 year now with zero problems. His scores were in the high 500s last summer

T Mobile is strange indeeed . . . I applied and they wanted a $150 deposit. i declined and then applied a month later for a business account using my tax ID number. I got approved for five business lines with no deposit.

The only negatives I had was inquiries and two Collections. I still dont understand why they asked for little deposit for a recent bankrupcy from another person, which is considered worse than collection accounts. Since they asked for $500 from me, I told them hell no and went to verizon the same day.

I had 680 when I got my t-mobile and the rep said I had "perfect" credit. They think 680 is Perfect?

The funny thing is that they required me to show both my drivers license and my social security card.
