I checked on the AT&T Universal Card websites and found out they have a new card called AT&T Universal Card Cash Rewards Card. I called their customer service and asked for converting my current card into Cash Rewards without applying . She told me the account number, credit limit and PIN remains the same but APR is lower than my current one. The card rewards terms similar to Citibank Dividend Platinum Card and it is a Platinum Card. I should get my card in next couple of weeks. If you're interested, here is the link:

Well, I just got off the phone with them. My current rate is only 6.65%, and I hoped they could convert it with no increase in rate, but they can't.

Re: AT&T Universal Card Cash reward

I just logged on the accountonline and they changed the account type into Cash Rewards Card. The card looks good. By the way, I don't think you can keep the current rate and actually I got lower rate. The rate is 10.74% and it is actually 1% higher than my old card.
