    Re: Target Guest Card Application

Continue with the regular Visa app; then, near the bottom of the screen, select the radio button that says "Please select if you would like to be considered for the Target Guest Card ONLY."

Otherwise, it'll put you through for the Visa, and give you the Guest card only if you don't qualify for the Visa.

    Re: Target Guest Card Application

Wajaba what do you think the chances are of getting a Target Guest Card with a non-discharged CH 13 (about 2 years old), 2 good auto accts, a mortgage, and a 685 FICO score?

I want a pretty good idea before risking the inquiry. THis would be my first application in almost 3 years.

I know there is an older post floating around about BK friendly banks and list members experience. I think NanaC originally started the post.

    Re: Target Guest Card Application

685 is very good...I was approved (not instantly) with a 618-ish score, and that was with a couple of satisfied judgements, a paid repo, and a paid collection. So I would say your chances are pretty good, but don't quote me on that, especially in light of the industry's recent belt-tightening.

    Good luck,

    Re: Target Guest Card Application

I feel confident enough to apply if the decision was made on score alone. I think the 685 would probably fly. Like you, I have seen lots and lots of people on this board approved with much lower scores. I am just concerned that I will be automatically denied because the BK is not yet discharged, it is still ongoing. That is my concern.

Good point, and I don't really have an answer to that. I would say to call them, but I'm not sure how much good it'll do. Some issuers' phone reps have a pretty in-depth knowledge of their underwriting standards; other phone reps really don't know (or won't tell) what their qualifications are. Target (RNB) seems to be in the latter group, based on my experience.

    Re: Target Guest Card Application

Lisa, here's the way I see this. If they deny you for the visa because of the bk, chances are they will deny you for the guest card also. Now, if you apply for the visa and are denied, they will automatically consider you for the guest card. So, my suggestion, take a chance and stop trying to figure it out because it is impossible to do. LOL Go for it.

    Apply lisa (and WAVING),

I was approved last month for the guest card, denied the visa, $300 limit but my first approval :-) with C13 reporting.

C13 was discharged but isn't reporting as discharged YET, lol.

    Go for it, ka-ching!

They've incredible customer service so far too, there's a perk!
