I'm really angry. I called Target to get my APR reduced (its currently @ 18.9 or something like that) and the rep had to transfer me and then deny me based on my credit report. I told them SPECIFICALLY not to pull a credit report. I have a zero balance, and will keep it like that until my APR is lowered. Then they wouldn't do a CL increase. This is on the same day that BofA raised me 4,000 w/o an inquiry. Has anyone had better luck?

Where did they transfer you to ? I had mine lowered thru customer service(unless they have changed their policy),& it was WITHOUT a credit report pulled.

BTW,they MUST have your permission to pull a credit report(fight them for removal of the inquiry).

The customer service huy said that he could not do it, but I had to be transfered to a special department. I understand if I had over been over the limit, etc., but I have a good record with them for a little over six months, and currently have no balance, so what was the big deal? When the second lady got on the phone she said I was denied based on my credit record, and I would be receiving a letter explaning the reasons. I swear if a report was pulled I'm going to raise hell.

I called last week and too was transfered to another department.

The second rep. gave me the APR reduction without hesitation. I called after my 7th billing cycle closed and I do carry a balance (50% usage of total cl).

Best to my knowledge no inquiry was pulled.

    Best regards,

You gave them the right to pull as many credit reports (HARD INQUIRIES) as they want ... it's in the cardholder agreement.

I'm surprised by the differing treatments we're all getting -- some of us get exactly what we're asking for (9.9%, CL increases) and others (my partner, whom I "speak for" on the phone) get the run-around and "sorry... we can't do that"

    ??

I guess if I were on the "sorry..." end, I'd be p-ssed off too.

Keep calling, emailing, and trying ... you may get the "right" rep sometime!

    Good luck,
    mj
