Tax Liens if making payments?

I don't have any tax liens on my credit reports, but I did have some exta tax owed from last year that I am making payments to the IRS on right now. The rep I spoke to told me that they won't put any liens out there as long as I am paying on the tax due each month.

However, the notice they send out states "we may record a tax lien until the balance is paid in full"

Has anyone out there had a lien placed on their credit reports when they took the installment arrangement on the tax owed?

We've had an installment arrangement with the IRS for a couple of years now, never a lien associated with it.

I've never heard of anyone having a lien placed as long as the installment agreement is kept up. Liens tend to be their "escalated" collection method for those who don't pay as agreed or who don't communicate with them.
