I paid a collection in June when I pulled my report and noticed it stated unpaid. At the time it was before I came here and knew what I could do by validation and delete for pay. Anyway I recieved a receipt with an account number that matched the credit report. In July they deleted the account on the reports(was happy), however they relisted it under a different CA and different account number that I never recieved notice on. Can they do that or can I force deletion since I never received any notification and have the receipt to prove it. The new one does showed paid. Just trying to find all the angles as I read and reread the laws but dont exactly understand them all yet. Thanks for any advice.
the phone numbers of the CA's (the deleted and the relisted) are the exact same. I noticed that when I went to dispute. I havnt done anything yet because now it is tied to the CA that I have 7 paid medical collects and I am clueless. Not sure how to go about this. Thank you for the bump
Transunion did the same thing to me. They deleted a citibank visa and relisted it as just citibank and tried to get around the 5 day rule. Needless to say, I wasn't buying it and it has since been removed. I would call up the CRAs and point out that the exact phone number and address and account #s are the same but the CA(and there are a few out there that have different names but are the same company) tried to pull a fast one. Do not accept a 'we will put it in dispute'. Point out that this is a violation of the FCRA and you will accept nothing short of deletion NOW.
the address is different and the account number is now different. The only thing that is the same is amount, phone number and dates. Everytime I call the CRA's I get run around....How does one go about getting anything done without being nasty...When I state codes and laws I get hung up one or they just put back in dispute for another 30 days or I am told I am being frivolous. So frustrated because I feel like I am making things worse sometimes. I now have an address on my reports I have never lived at and they wont remove...I called the OC that the CRA said reported it and they dont have a clue how that address is listed since they dont have it either..... Good thing I get highs to make up for the frustration <Bangin my head on the wall>
I am assuming you mean endorphin HIGHS produced by successful deletions, moving scores upward. These are free and no hangover. Right? I feel your pain, as "you know who" used to say.
of course nothing like some gatorade to replenish yourself after a good fight replace all those endorphines
I have the potential for being in the same situation. Today I received a notice that an account had been deleted by a ca, but the account # is different. So... I assume they are planning to do the same thing to me. Does anyone know how to deal with this? Thanks,
