Ya know guy's, After sleeping on it I think we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Pulse and 1Collector for their participation of late. I personally don't know if she was a plant or not. I know many C-netters think so. If she's not she will return and ask for help. If she is a plant let us think for a moment about what she has single handedly accomplished. Most of the mistakes that get made around here are because people don't spend a sufficient amount of time studying and being fully familiar with the law before they act. This ONE problem was probably the single largest windfall for the CRA's and CA's. It permitted massive, irreversible mistakes that they could hang their hat on and use against us. I loved what Whyspers said about quoting FDCPA to the CRA's and OC's when she was new. LOL. NOT ANYMORE! From now I suspect Pulse's thread will become required reading for all newbies and should probably be linked from Doc's fantastic primer. 1collector said she liked to read the board because it keeps her on her toes. Well guess who's on their toes now - US! Not only are we GOOD at spotting them but I suspect there will be FAR fewer mistakes made in the future by those who would otherwise inadvertently provide ammunition to the CRA's and CA's. Keep those CA spy's coming ~
I agree butch, In here supposed attempt to disrupt the board, she made some good points as what not to do.
I agree, I got alot out of the "Pulse" threads. mostly I got that you can't go off half cocked, you need to do your home work and then when you do start action you need to do it to the letter, and you need to be ready to take all the way to the courts if it gets there.
I'm glad you brought up what Whyspers said about spouting regulations to the CRA's and CA's, because I didn't understand. Why would this be a mistake?
What have the CAs and CRAs given you lately other than a royal screwing. So why give them free legal advice that they will just use against you?
PBM can see the logged IP addresses, not just the ones we see. I don't think they close accounts lightly here.
Oh, man!!! <newbie slaps self on forehead> Do I ever feel dumb . . . I never ever thought of it that way, and of course I just sent out a load of letters that each had a quote from the FCRA and a copy of an FTC opinion letter enclosed. And here I was feeling all competent and well informed, lol. Oh, well -- I live, I learn
