I am selling my home instead of refinancing. I have about $12-20k in home repairs to do in my home before listing my home on the market. Since I only have a $400 Cl with Cap1 and $800 with Orchard, I needed more credit to do the repairs. Well, I figured with an EQ of 796, which is what Home Depot and Lowes pull in my area, I would have easily qualified for credit. I was denied the other day for both of them, called up both Home Depot and Lowes complaining that there is no way I could be denied credit with a Fico of 796 and no derogatory info on my EQ report. Well, I have been locked out of EQ for about two weeks now and today I was just miraculously able to view my report and a CA account from NCO is now showing. #1 NOT MY ACCOUNT #2 Asked for validation on this account over 60 days ago #3 NCO never validated #4 NCO sent out a letter of deletion to me during validation period #5 TU deleted this same ca account from NCO within two weeks of dispute, this dispute also contained an affidavit from the account holder stating it was their account #6 NOT MY ACCOUNT! So now, I am really **stressed out** being forced to pay almost entirely cash for my home repairs, and some repairs I might have to skip for lack of funds. Thanks a lot NCO. As soon as my home goes on the market, hopefully by the end of the month, expect a small claims suit for $5,000 (maximum in my state for small claims) in actual damages and FCRA violations.
Thanks for the tip Charlie. But I am saving a federal lawsuit against EXP. in Federal Court. THis suit against NCO in small claims should be a short and sweet victory. And based on my time schedule and what time I am willing to commit to this case, small claims see the best route for me. Will Post once I file the claim. I am just so busy now getting my house ready for sale.
