I am totally confused. I have a Household- Best Buy Account that was originally for 1 item - Car Stereo - It cost less than $500.00. I paid on it for a while then we had problems.

It has been to a number of collection agencies over the last few years but recently I received a letter from Sherman Acquistion stating the amount owed is $1365.00.

Then I got a letter from Wolpoff and Abramson saying they were working on behalf of Sherman Acquisition.

Now yesterday I got a letter from Northland Group Inc.saying the current creditor - Sherman Financial L.P. is offering me a settlement of $751.16 to be paid in three payments.

    Now to my question.

Who do I send the validation letter to?

I keep hearing bad things about W.& A. but all three of these letters have come within the last month. Should I send a validation letter to all three?

Help would be greatly appreciated since I know I need to send these letters out A.S.A.P.

I personally would start with Northland Group, since they're the most recent. But since they've come so close, go ahead and send validations to all three.

And make sure you tell them you want all future communications to be in writing only--no phone calls.
