Is anyone else on the transunion priority list? Basically you call in and they cannot pull your file. They take your number and tell you they will call you back within a couple days. I have waited nearly a week and have not received the callback. I called again last wednesday or thursday and was told I would get a call back which never happened. I have asked to be taken off the priority list and have emailed don richman to take me off without receiving a response or even being told why I am on it to begin with. I was emailed back and told there is no reason to call as they are working on my issues. Of course, I cannot get anyone to call me back on those issues. A couple years ago transunion paid a large fine because their 1-800 number was not accessible during business hours and consumers could not get through to ask questions. Does anyone think being put on a priority list and then being ignored counts? If you are on the priority list would you, if I got the right fax, send an intent to sue letter stating you want off and you will file if they do not take you off. If we all hit them maybe they will stop shoving us in the corner.

Nation's Big Three Consumer Reporting Agencies Agree To Pay $2.5 Million To Settle FTC Charges of Violating Fair Credit Reporting Act

Three national consumer reporting agencies, Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc., (Equifax), Trans Union LLC (Trans Union), and Experian Information Solutions, Inc. (Experian), have agreed to a total of $2.5 million in payments as part of settlements negotiated by the Federal Trade Commission to resolve charges that they each violated provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by failing to maintain a toll-free telephone number at which personnel are accessible to consumers during normal business hours. According to the FTC's complaints, Equifax, Trans Union and Experian (collectively, consumer reporting agencies or CRAs) blocked millions of calls from consumers who wanted to discuss the contents and possible errors in their credit reports and kept some of those consumers on hold for unreasonably long periods of time. The proposed settlements with each CRA also would require that it meet specific performance standards to ensure that CRA personnel are accessible to consumers.

The reality is that consumers never got the access to the consumer reporting agencies that the law guarantees," said Jodie Bernstein, Director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection. "These cases demonstrate in no uncertain terms that it's time for Equifax, Experian and Trans Union to pick up the phone and meet their obligations to consumers."

According to TU, if you have sued them, threatened to sue them, use a lawyer or credit repair company, you are in their "priority" dep't. I was in it til recently because the company I work for has the word "attorney" in it. I finally got the idiots to take me out of that dep't.

How did you get them to take you out? I cannot even get them to call me back.

That sounds more like a delay list.

    Why did you call?

How did you get your file?

    This is really interesting.

I'm on the priority list. Welcome to the club!

I don't know how long it takes you to get off of this group, but I would like out too.

If you ever say "lawsuit" or "attorney" in a letter to them, you become a member.

I called again and said it has been 6 days and nobody has called me back. I will give them until tomorrow and then they will get a fax and I will boldface the word 'lawsuit'.

Does anyone have the phone # of the PA priority department? I have their fax at (610) 546-4606 but cannot find where I wrote the other #.

I didn't even know that you could contact the priority department directly. You can call the regular 1-800 number and ask for the priority department. They will transfer you to them.

They finally called today. They refuse to take me off priority and they refuse to tell me why. All they said is that since I emailed don richman I was put in priority. What kind of crap is this. Also, I put in a dispute on my last negative on july 20th. They say there is no dispute on it but I have the printout and they refuse to put it in dispute. The lady said I told them the account was ok but that is crap. Last time I called I was told she could not even see if it was in dispute or not. I am tired of being lied to. When I am done with RMA I am going after transunion.
