Is TrueCredit A Scam?

I signed up for trueCredit the other day to pull my reports. Up until today, it has worked just fine and I have gotten my three reports every day.

I received an e-mail this morning that stated that:

So I called to see if the problem could be fixed or to just cancel it. When I spoke to the CSR to cancel it, she said that she can add the ability to pull all 3 reports to my account, "no problem". The catch is that I have to pay the normal price of $14.95/month instead of the $11.21 price I received through Wal-Mart. She then said that her department cannot honor that price and can only give the $14.95/month that she quoted.

My guess is that they will then cut Wal-Mart out of the fee structure (however Wally World is paid), so that they can make more.

I just find it VERY strange that I have pulled my report for a week now with no issues.

Of course this leads back to the power of the credit bureaus. We are not their customers, so they could care less about us.

No problem. I can pull another report about 4:00 today or so. I will update it then.

It sopunds like this caould be a WalMart issue. I'd check with them. Maybe TC and WalMart stopped doing business with each other. Or, TC is trying to "up sell" that discounted price WalMart offers, to make more $$$.

I've been with TC for many months now and I've never had anything odd happen with them, but then, I didn't come to them through a discounted service, that's why I think that's where the problem is, for them. Save that notice, talk to Walmart or the division that is assigned to this area, and explain what happened. You may need to provide a copy of that notice to them (keep the original though).

I use TrueCredit, and have been very happy thus far. I've never had any issues.

I finally had time today to speak to their corporate where I could find out why they could not pull my 3 credit files.

The CSR said that the other credit bureaus (Equifax and Experian), would not work with them to pull my credit. I asked him if there was a person or department that I could call and he said no, because there is nothing that can be done.

When I told him that the other CSR said it would work if I paid the higher price, he said that it was untrue.

So now I have no way to pull my credit until the 30 day trial from Credit Secure is up. I guess I need to go ahead and cancel the free trial so that i can start.

Lisa, do any of those services allow me to pull daily credit files with FAKO scores? I want to be able to pull my reports daily if need be.

    Thanks

    Daily Monitoring of FICO Score

    Hi dogface,

The issue seems to be between TrueCredit and Equifax/Experian, and has nothing to do with you.

We do feature a service that monitors FICO scores. It is offered by Equifax and called Equifax Score Watch. The service includes daily monitoring of your Equifax credit report and FICO score. You are then notified if your FICO score drops or rises signficantly enough to cause a change in what interest rate you could receive. This means although your FICO score is monitored daily, you may not receive your score daily; subsequently, you'll only be notified if your score changes.

As always, please read terms and conditions before applying or signing up for any service.

I dont know why you are having these problems, considering the fact that I use TrueCredit, and receive an updated report/score daily. I've never had an issue.

I know. The strange thing is that I was already getting all three reports from them when they all of a sudden said I could only get 1 bureau. I kind of got my answer when that CSR said I could get all three for the higher price and not the discounted Wal-mart price.

Not to get violent, but it sounds like someone needs to be slapped.

It seems like nothing can be easy when it comes to credit repair.

Does anyone know if Truecredit updates credit score regularly? I have had 4 accounts removed from my credit and 2 accounts corrected from being derogatory to paid as agreed and the score has remained the same. Should I contact Transunion directly to get my score?

I think it can take a few days from the time they get the info to the time you are notified.

You know that you can get a new report once every 24 hrs. If you got a report today at 2pm, you have to wait until 2pm or later tomorrow to get a new one. Are you saying you were able to do that for a while, but then you weren'/t at some point? Was it because your subscription to that service using WalMart was over, and you had to get another subscription? Did you check with WalMart about these troubles?

I could pull all three for a few days, then they said there was an issue. Wal-mart replied to my e-mail, but it was a standard non-response.

Use Equifax score watch, they are the only true FICO score.

Is it Equifax only? I am not as interested in true FICOs as I am in being to pull daily reports.
