Logged on and ordered my TU report (claimed that I was denied credit, but it was an inquiry for an approved credit card ... hehehe).

Anyways, I was given the option to select a "personal credit report and score" or a "lender credit report and FICO score".

Two DIFFERENT credit reports and scores? Is the 'lender report and FICO score" the REAL TransUnion score that lenders see? What's the difference between your 'personal credit report' and the 'report that a lender gets' ??? I'm assuming that it's the same report, less the soft/promo inquiries.

What more/less are they giving to the lenders besides the soft/promo inquiries? I thought that accurate data was accurate data, and following the letter of the law (FCRA) wouldn't change a darn thing between a 'personal credit report' and a 'lender version' ??

And the beat goes on ....

I bet THAT is the reason behind the HARD inquiry when getting a FICO score from TU..... you requested a "lender" report which always produces a hard inquiry vice the 'personal' report which must be recorded as a soft inquiry by law!

I know that this doesn't answer your question, it just jumped out at me when you mentioned that you could request a lender report!

Since YOU aren't a lender, just "seeing what they see", you shouldn't have to be penalized by receiving a lenderlike inq. Just a thought...
