TU score up 150 pts in 30 days!!!

    Just wanted to share my experience so far.

    TU up 150 pts
    EFX up 45 pts
    EXP up 44 pts.

    Going second round!!!

    Also, just ran my scores on Privacyguard.com.
    LOVE IT!!

    Everyone good luck and GO FOR IT!!!

    congrats , but remember privacyguards scores are not true fico scores ....... and vary quite a bit sometimes.....

    Collections, some lates. I disputed 16 items. 10 were removed, 3 corrected and 3 left unchanged.

    One was a nasty cell phone bill that I closed in 1998 that just started showing up last year. It showed 120 days late. They tried to get me to send them my drivers license and social. I sent them a letter threatening them (did not comment on the request) and they dropped it. It also could have been the 1-2 punch!!! :)

    Thanks for the input..however, I am in the loan biz and understand that mortgage pulls could vary. I'm not as concerned about the scores right now as much as I am the deletions. The scores will happen.

    I'm happy about the progress in just 30 days...just wanted to share.

    The POINT is...they are F.A.C.O. not F.I.C.O. scores...

    HI loan queen, I am wondering about a couple of things that maybe you could recommend and advise on. I have 4 accoutns at zero balance which I paid at less that full balance and are closed. I am looking to get these deleted without paying a credit restoration co. Do you or anyone out there have advice. Since I paid them off at less than zero balance then I have already admitted they are mine, right? so I can't dispute them, what are ANY other options out there for me?
    Also I pulled my creidt and my mortgage is not being reported. This upsets me because I have been payin $1,000.oo /month on time for two years,. wouldn't this help my credit????!?
    PLease advise I am so motivated to be in your position with upping my scores but don't know where to start since I have admitted these are mine? erin

    Hi Erinp,

    I simply sent the letters validation letters that are on this site as well as homebuyerscredithelp.com
    I would dispute them (make sure you send them registered/recpt). NEVER talk to them on the phone!I know you have admitted they were yours...you are asking that they validate the debt and they most likely won't be able to then they will have to remove. Most likely they are reporting incorrectly somewhere as well.

    As far as your mortgage they are "not rating". You can ask them for a rating. I you were to want to get a new loan (refi and another purchase) you would have the lender have the credit reporting company they are using to get a supplement and have it added.

    You can do this!! NEVER admit anything!!! The only CRA that you need to state "not mine", "never late", etc. is EXP. If you don't they will send another letter and it will take longer. I got 6 items deleted out of 10 with EXP and had my old telephone number, old addresses and exhusband deleted. This is important!! Out of 16 I had 10 deleted, 3 improved and 3 remained. Out of 8 I had 4 deleted with EXF. That was on the first round. I just sent the second round.

    It's takes a little time, but the rewards are HUGE!! It's a great feeling to be in control of your credit!

    Thank you for the advice. I am not sure which validation to send in this instance, I have to tell you all of this talk is pretty much gibberish to me. I am an athletic trainer/teacher and no nothing about these topic except what I have read here. very informativve but a little overwhelming. I just don't know the steps or which validation letter. I guess I need to know what is the overall purpose and goal of the letter? Is is show me all paperwork..or else? also, what is cert/reg that you talk about in yours? Please advise, I never thought I would be in this position with my credit. I want to refinance in july. my scores now are 560's or 580's. I only have four accounts in (-) status . BUT my mortgage is not reporting I have sent that compnay a letter saying please take care of this now. Is that waht I should be doing? I am sorry, alot of questions, but you will be greatly helping a desperate lost credit nut!

    Erin,

    You are not a "lost credit nut"! It can be overwelming at first...but once you get started it makes sense.

    This is what I did:

    Went to homebuyerscredithelp.com

    Go to area 2 (on the left) There is an awesome letter and explanation.

    Go to the left side and copy the letters that apply to your situation. ie. CA (credit agency) letter 1st validation. That letter tells them to prove it or lose it. So to speak. If your problem is with say MBNA then you would send the OC letter (original creditor) letter. He does a great job of explaining what to do.

    You type each letter for your situation. You will item by item tell them what you are disputing. You will give them the agency and the account number. For Experian you will need to tell them why you are disputing. ie. not mine, never late, etc. Don't admit anything! Deny, deny and dispute! Placing your name and social security number at the bottom

    Print (don' sign).

    Make 2 copies. Keep one for your records and send the other along with a copy of your credit report. I only send the page for the CRA that I was disputing. I highlighted each item.

    Send certified, return receipt requested. I sent the first round 1st class with proof of mailing as well just in case they didn't sign the green card. They all did.

    You should send the letters to the CA's, or OC's first. Wait for the green card, then send the letters to the CRA's. The reason for this is if you have disputed they can not validate when th CRA contacts them. The 1-2 punch!!! Love it!!!!

    I received a letter from one CA a week or so later asking that I send them a copy of my social security card and drivers license. NOT!!! I sent them the second validation letter. It was removed off of 2 of the 3 CRA's. Went 2nd round for the third.

    What I've learned so far...

    You are making them prove this debt in everyway. The burden is on them. NOT YOU!

    Don't dispute a good line of credit (ahhhh)

    Send EVERYTHING Certified, return receipt requested (it's the green card at the post office). The post office helped me with the first round as how to do it their way.

    DO NOT talk to them! Only use correspondence.

    Make sure you ask that all old information is deleted. ie. address, ex-spouse, phone numbers. employment. When they go to verify..they can't. Try to call them ahead of sending your first round or fax afer 5 p.m.

    It feels great to finally be in the drivers seat.

    Again on your mortgage, ask your broker/lender to get a credit supplement and ask them to add the line. I would write them, even call them and ask why they aren't reporting and ask them to. This is an instance that I would suggest you calling them.

    thank you sooo much! Okay...so I will call each credit reporting agency and request my credit report

    what about if I have already pretty much admitted they are mine becuase I sent payment?

    4. I am going to check out htat other website and hopefully get started on this pronto!!

    5. Can you do loans anywhere or just in your area, I would like to give you some business if possible in return for how helpful you have been.

    Erin,

    No problem, glad I could help.

    You will want to call the CRA's only to remove old addresses...NOTHING ELSE! I'd try calling first, then faxing if you can't get through. If they aren't off first round put them in your second letter.

    Go to privacyguard or creditreport.com to get your reports. I first ran mine through creditreport.com with scores for about $30, then ran them after the first round through privacyguard to check on them for 60 days for $1. Make sure you cancel before the end of the 60 days or they will charge you $100 something.

    Yes, only with EXP you will need an "explanation". Remember YOU ARE DISPUTING YOUR ACCOUNT! You want them to prove it's yours! Even if you have paid. I have had a couple of paid collections removed. When you go to the website it will make more sense. You have NO contract with the CA. You have to change your thought process....PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!

    hello again,
    I did use privacyguard.com two weeks ago, are those accuate enough to go by? Also I didnt' see an option to print them in order to send them to along wiht the letters. I went to the homebuyer website and printed off those letters. In my case I think the letters under the heading " letters to send when paid to collections agency" I am going to try thsi route and see how successful. Fingers are crossed..

    I am refinancing in June:
    amt of loan left 93,000.00 rolling in closing costs
    credit scores 580 as of now w/o current mortgage being reported
    $40,000 /year + bonus
    savings 20,000.00
    WOuld projection seem promising that I would/could possibly get a "normal" mortgage, or are my credit scores killing me?

    I'm curious....all my credit reports have lots of old addresses, various spellings of my name, etc. What wording in a letter do you use to have them get rid of this extra info?

    I have heard you can call and get those things removed. I have every intention of doing that today or Monday will let you know how it goes.

    Ok give a quick update on inquires.

    I called at about 7:30pm Eastern time to equifax credit manager rep. I buy their watch dog (or whatever it is) for 4.95 a month, money well spent in my opinion. Anyway they have people you can call to get help with questions.

    I told them I did not understand why I was getting request for my credit report that I had not requested credit from anyone since May of 2003. I told him I was afraid someone may be trying to damage my credit or something. He gave me a credit report number and the dispute number at EQF and I simply called and played dumb. The lady was very helpful and I explained that I did not seek credit in many months. She asked when was the last time and I said May 2003. She said she would dispute all of them and comenced to tell me which were there. Anyway she said it would be 21 to 30 days and they would send me a new report.

    Well the best part about it, I was sitting around and at 12:05 I pulled the PG reports and all of the hits were gone and my fake score jumped nearly 30 points in 8 hours. Pretty cool I thought. Quick simple and the least frustrating part so far. I am really going to keep a tight fist on hits to my credit and will try with Experian monday.

    Sorry for the babbling I was just happy to see some success.

    I didn't call I put it in my first round CRA letters. Most came off. The EXP came off in my 2nd letter to them (they sent a second letter to me within 15 days to clarify the disputes). I still found a couple on the other 2 CRA's and disputed them in my 2nd letter. Remember if they can't verify the address they are done. :) That is why it's best to do it before letter number 1. See what I've learned here!!!
