Unauthorized Advertising

We want this board to remain a place where consumers can come to get genuine advice from other consumers and professionals. We do not want this board to get bogged down by unauthorized and unhelpful advertising, as these posts can be very numerous if we allow it. We do not often advertise our own credit card and credit services/loans sections on the board for this very reason.

Please do not hesitate to notify the CCN board moderators about any unauthorized advertising or otherwise "bad" posts you see on this board. You can do so quickly and easily by clicking on the red and white triangle on the top right hand side of the disputed post. We will respond to your notification as soon as possible and act accordingly.

Here are a couple ways to spot unauthorized advertising:
1) Typically, the poster is new and only has a few posts, all having to do with the same topic*
2) The poster may claim to be a consumer who simply wants to help others by passing on this link (i.e. "I found this website that has the best credit card offers. Here's the link: www.whatever.com Check it out and tell all your friends about it!")
3) The poster will offer no other advice except for a link to this other website he has found
4) The poster either never posts again or keeps posting the same type of content over and over again.

*Most of the time, these posters are providing links to credit cards or credit services. Please keep in mind you can find the same information on our website by clicking on the relevant tabs at the top of the page.

We hope you can help us in keeping this board clean and helpful to all who use it by notifying us of such users.

Thanks,
Lisa

It's been here all along as a sticky--since 2006. It was bumped and went to the top.
