Title of post in the spirit of Ron!! LOL - OK, so its a crappy card with a crappy interest rate. But I got a $2000 cl I desperately needed a card, since Black November in 2002, in the jlynn home, I had no open revolving accounts, and needed to get one going. Just couldn't stand the thought of Providian or Centennial. So I'm off and rolling again! BTW got it with a 634 EQ, and one unpaid CO reporting.
Congrats on your card. I hope they treat you great! Union Plus hates me... I can't do anything to get them to increase me or lower the interest rate..nothing...when I got the card, I had no negs, 680 FICO, 50% ut, and they denied, then gave me $500 at 17.9 on PFB reconsideration... Figured, no problem, keep them, perfect payment history and time, they'll increase and lower....nope..not gonna happen...7 months later, they won't increase or reduce...so $0 balance now and sock drawer for them...not even sure why I'm keeping it open...except I like the little kids on the front of the card...lol Hmm...is it possible there is a Nana factor evolving??? George, could it be???
Thats what I figured from the get-go. I'm going to buy my kiddos a nice dinner tonight, and probably buy a tank of gas here and there, just to show some activity... A stepping stone that hopefully I can mush into the ground in a few months
Best to you and enjoy that dinner...unfortunately, they won't even let me step on them.. Sigh...thinking of closing them, in fact, shoot..its silly...they are my highest Int (compare with 6.99 at Chase, 8 at AMEX and except for my oldest line, Emerge, which is so sock drawered, it has lint)...and my lowest CL.. but in my readings, it seems they treat others a lot better than what I've seen so will most likely be better for you than what I've experienced... What do ya think? Should I close them or sock drawer them? I currently have Amex blue & green, 2 chase cards, bofa, Bank one, Cap one (yeah, I know but it's a good limit with a decent int rate) and fnanb (another dumb Cl but the int is bearable) oh and my oldest..emerge! AHAHAHAHAH.. Anyway, think I should close Union Plus? If I do, I'll ask them to send my big old $500 limit to you, ok?? so you can have $2500..
Definitely no expert here But, since you have an account thats older, it won't hurt your age, but where would it put your utilization? Is that $500 positively impacting you elsewhere?
Well, it's clear CL, so it is helping but is a small portion of my available..hmm...you know, it's that desire to tell them where to put their card since they don't appreciate the NANA! Teehee... (The Nana??? What the heck was that? I must be giddy from the new grandson...ROFL)
Re: Re: Union Plus Card!!!!!!!!!!!! jlynn, congratulations on the card! Nana, get some rest! And enjoy that grandson. Do we need to start the UYNF? I think your other stuff is pretty good, isn't it?
Re: Re: Union Plus Card!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL..UYN and it's UP Foundation..teehee.. My other stuff? Yeah, I have good cards, amex blue and green, bofa, 2 chase, bank one.. UP just hates me..LOL...
Not sure if this will help anyone, but i just got my Union Plus card in the mail a day ago, and when I applied I had a 645 FICO with 4% utilization and a bunch of late pays from a year or 2 ago. They started me up at $1200 CL and the interest rate is eluding me at the moment. I'll post it if I can remember it. This is actually one of the first credit cards that i've been approved for in like 2 years! I also received a Citibank Platinum Select card with a $1000 CL with the same scores and situation. For someone who has only 1 open account (Orchard Bank) these 2 cards were a welcome addition.
See? What is their deal with me? LOL..OK...well...hmm...I guess I could just stop griping and close them...hmmm...that would be a sweet feeling...
