    ...And it worked!!

I received a reply letter from the CA stating that they will delete the neg info from my CRs.

It was the last collection acct listed on my EX acct.

Should I contact EX myself and forward this letter to them to speed up the process?

When I used the goodwill letter, my CR's were updated before I even got my letter. They moved quick to remove all my lates. It was awesome (and I had 32 90days lates on that account!) It was a big coupe in my journey!

I am going to try that this week to see what happens. What type of things did you say in your letters?

I did mine through PFB, and just gave them a big sob story. I read the goodwill letters on this board, but didn't follow them. I just used them for ideas. Whatever works!!

    Suedan,

My letter was related to utility bill collection.

I just said that I was living w/ a girlfriend and we had a bitter break-up. I moved quickly and may not have tied up all loose ends in the process. I also noted that my wife and I were going for a mortgage soon and this derog. would effect my qualifying interest rate.

    It is almost all true.

Thanks very much for your replies. Does PFB contact anyone for this purpose. And does it take longer with them or the same amount of time it would take yourself?

The goodwill letter was to the OC or to the CA and it was on an account that was already paid?

    Suedan,

I got the name of the person in charge of cust. serv. at the CA and faxed them a letter. This was done on Monday evening. I rec'd their reply on Friday. Very fast turnaround if you ask me. Getting deleted from Ex will probably prove to be difficult as everything else I do w/ them has proven.

Who would you try to contact if you are dealing with an OC?

Would this include debts that are listed as "paid chargeoffs" because they were transferred to a CA?

Just got back one of three goodweill letters I sent out for 3 ,30 days lates with an auto loan at Fleet (Actually ,they bought the loan with the three lates from Summit Bank) . The lates were from early in 2001 and I (hubby)has never had an actual late with Fleet bank themselves which I pointed out in the letter.
    Not very happy!

They said "Although we are extremely sympathetic to your situation, we are unable to alter the factual data contained in your credit file. We have however placed a copy of your explaination in your loan file and appreciate you providing us with this information"

My question is "Will this explaination make it eaiser for me to get another loan with Fleet or is it just documentation for them that I admiited being late three times? How "sympathetic".
