My husband has lots of old debt and I was wondering which ones to validate first.

Would 3 years back be okay? or should I just start at the fathest back and work my way up?

What do you do if you've disputed an item with all 3 CRA's one gets Paid/never late, one gets deleted, and the third comes back verified? I hate to validate and lose the good TL.

How many validations have you done/and are doing at the same time?(I don't want to get into a paperwork nightmare and make my own mistakes.)

    TIA

    hey melissa...
with the info you have supplied, i should suggest that the oldest trades be disputed first with the cra's...which i think you may have done...

the account you disputed and got three different responses on- what type of account is this? what was the original status?

it was actually a rapid refund, the taxes were held for 6 months before being released(we paid the interest they charged at the end), but then it was paid in full. 3 cra for both DH and I= 6 TL's, 2 paid in full(EX), 1 Delete(TU), 3 verified(1 TU, 2 EQ).

Regretfully, we have several with both of us that cover all 3 CRA's and I'm pretty sure we are going to run into this problem again. we have right over 100 TL's between us and the 3 bureaus. At 6TL per OC, it's tough.

    Thanks again!

My first CRA verification was 12 tradelines on TU at one time... 10 deleted... 1 deleted second dispute (the person taking the dispute typed it as "Not Mine" instead of the dispute that I told them to make)...

I actually am overly cautious as to which ones that I request to validate... my criteria is mainly a) new CA, b) any discrepancies between the CRAs, c) outside of state SOL, d) small enough for them to decide that its not worth the hassle... :)

The one thing that I have learned the hard way is to re-dispute and re-request validation if they aren't accounting for every penny of the account (if theres a discrepancy one way, or the other; before even looking at all of the rest of the documentation), even if they send a "we couldn't find the documentation that you requested" response.
