Well, thanks to CN, I finally got Experian to remove DH's worst TL--a very delinquent Sears account of mine from since before we were married on which he was incorrectly listed as AU.

His score jumped by 86 points!! :)

Thanks to everyone who helped me!! I think what finally 'did it' was a combination of my last letter to Exp. and DHs phone call to Sears' legal dept.

I was to the point where I really thought there was NO breaking down the Exp/Sears combo, and I was about to SUE. I have to say I'm relieved it didnt have to go that far.

This is very encouraging and I just might try fixing my own credit report now.

    Congrats!

I love hearing success stories. Makes me feel less hopeless about what I'm trying to do.

Well done crowmom, If I were you I would check experian once a month for the next few months to make sure it is not a temporary fix on that report. Sears usually updates even negative accounts EVERY month even if there is no change from the prior month.

Example: Lets say someone did a BK on a Sears account. They will report late every single month until it is deleted for good or it is changed to "included in BK". Even if it was changed to "included in BK" Sears will update that EVERY month without a need to do so.

I really hope that it isn't a temporary fix and it doesn't come back again. Sears spends alot of time on old negative accounts without reason or changes. It may be possible Experian fixed it and Sears will fix it again. WELL DONE though, Good Luck 2 ya!

I will have to hurt someone if this comes back on his Exp report. ;)

Youre right tho...i already have CreditExpert, so I'll make sure to check it frequently for the next few months. I think I have it paid thru May '04. If Sears stays off that long, it wont come back, right?

thanks for the well wishes guys. :)

Congratulations, and good luck with your own repair journey.

Maybe now that Citibank is taking over the Sears portfolio the reporting will change.
