    Hello all,

Just wanted to see if anyone has any info about this. I have a paid Amex charge off from back in 2011. In the trade line it states DOFD on 1-2011 and Date of first major delinquency on 8-2011. But when I pull up the payment history chart they have all of Dec 2007 paid as agreed all the way to July 2012 is a C/O and then paid as agreed to Dec 2012 then C/O again and the paid as agreed all the way to Aug- 2014 and C/O again. So is that a total of 3 charge offs listed in the history of this account?

Sorry your question was missed so long ago Mrmatt. Based upon how you're describing it, I would say yes- it sounds as though they are reporting 3 charge-offs. Obviously the payment history is incorrect. Did you end up disputing the inaccuracies through Equifax, and if so- what was the result of your disputes?

CO's in the payment history would recur every month, or they should.

Have you checked all three reports to cross-reference their reporting on all 3? It can help to identify new errors that you may be able to dispute.

The real question is was it ever caught up following the first DOFD 1-2011, if it wasn't then *THAT* would be the true DOFD, not 8-2011.

I haven't seen that before...charge offs in the payment history for every month I mean. So jam, when an account is charged off by the OC, the payment history on credit reports is supposed to report a charge off each and every month until the charge off is paid in full? Just curious how that works.

The Payment History is a 7-year running history of the current status being reported every month.

Theoretically, unless the account was brought current after reaching a late, it should go something like.

"OK" or "1"; "30 DAYS LATE" or "2"; "60 DAYS LATE" or "3"; "90 DAYS LATE" or "4"; "120 DAYS LATE" or "5"; "150 DAYS LATE" or "6"; "180 DAYS LATE" or "7"; "9" or "COLLECTIONS"... It should always re-report the current status whether it's 7 or 9... Until there would be a status change of some sort.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
