    Hello,

I have a paid collection on my report and its showing the DOLP as 3/2011 and DOFD as 4/2011. I pulled my bank records from all of 3/2011 and I have no records of paying them anything. I have already diputed this as not mine but it came back verified. Its time to get down and dirty. Do I have a leg to stand on?

The DOLP is likely referring to the OC account, so there wouldn't be anything in your bank statements from that time for paying this CA.

Do you have a common name, or are you a SR or JR?

    Mindcrime,

No unfortunately I dont have a common name so Im pretty much stuck with fighting this out. Sorry I should have mentioned that the OC is infact reporting this neg on my reports as well. And the CA is just reporting all of the same information that the OC is reporting.

So I should go after the OC first and see what kind of results I get and then go after the CA?

    Thanks

This is typical. BUT, when there is something off, like say a date, that's a good thing for you.

OC is subject to the FCRA, and the CA is subject to both the FCRA and the FDCPA. I would start with the CA, beginning with a debt validation letter sent certified. Let them sign for it, and dispute the account again.

Also, now that I re-read your original post, how is it that it is reporting as a paid collection? It looks like the OC received the last payment on 3/11, and the DOFD commenced 4/11 with no further payment activity? Are you sure this is a paid collection?
