    what are the chances?

okay i have yet another question
i have 2 collections accounts on my CR, what steps should i take in order to try and get a deletion for payment? should i call the CA and ask or should i send them a CRRR offer?
Secondly what type of score increase would i see due to both Collections being deleted?
    Anyone know about that?

We're not real big fans of talking to CA's on the phone. They record all their calls and it's easy to accidentally say something that they construe as an admission.

There's a number of factors involved in score calc. It's the last one that REALLY counts.

My last derog dropped and I got ... almost 100 point boost.

When you ask your questions tell us some of the basic info. How old, how much (approx) and what type of account, like Open or Closed. Naturally not the personal stuff.

    :)

    va,

I wouldnt offer to pay for deletion just yet. First, I would send the CAs a certified letter requestion validation of the debt(s). Send the letters return receipt requested as well. Now prepare your CRA disputes, for the first round I like "Not mine". As soon as you get the green card dack from the CA letter(s). Send off your CRA disputes, or if you prefer you can do it online. I prefer in writing CMRRR letters, as thats easier to prove up in court if necessary, but you can do it as you see fit. After this step, you may not have to pay for removal. If they cannot prove up the debt to you, they may remove the listing all together or they may commit a violation of the FDCPA. I am currently dealing with xyz collections, for violations of the FDCPA they committed when I followed the above steps. And you better believe they are gonna pay me alot more then they could have ever gotten from collecting the alleged debt. All they had to do was follow the law, and I would have been happy. They didnt, so I am not. Good luck!

vaneleus gave you good advice. Send the validation letter first. Even if you really do owe the money, they have a legal obligation to prove that it's your debt or remove it. At least the medical bill may be past the statute of limitations (SOL) to collect, and if it is, and they delete the entry, you're home free.

You need to check the SOL for your state to know for sure.

In any case, your first step is to request validation and then dispute with the CRAs, as vaneleus outlined.

As far as I know, yes. But I think it varies by state.

*This one might be past sol so you wouldn't have to pay it.
