Does anyone know if there is a cc company that uses Experian exclusively? Thanks in advance.

I applied for an HSBC Platinum Mastercard and they checked only Experian. I'm in Iowa. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I applied for Orchard Bank Mastercard on 5.1.06 and recieved my card today in the mail with a $750 CL. They (Orchard/HSBC) only pulled Experian. I think I might be getting the hang of this!

As your debt to available credit improves, and your new card develops some age and history of paid as agreed (say, a year or more), you should be able to build on it to get better terms on your next card.

Thaks again for your wisdom. I have a $300 CL Cap1 Card and pay it off once per week since the CL is so low. I have had it for a year with flawless history and they will not bump the CL up.

Try (as hard as it can be sometimes) to not get discouraged about CL increases from some of those CC companys. Back in 02 when I first started my credit repair I had scores all in the low 500's. I applied for and got a household bank CC with a TL of $300. Now all of my scores are low 700's and completely clean of all negatives for almost 3 years now. I have Amex blue with a TL of $5K and Chase perfect TL $3000 for about 2 years. The point to all of this is that Household Bank will still not budge off of that $300 TL. I just laugh about it and toss them a few bucks every month to keep the account open. Just because it is a fairly old revolving account and most importantly it helped me get to where I am with my credit.

Accounts that are offered for purposes of initially opening credit, or rebuilding credit, seldom have the best terms or credit limits. Companies offering them know that their customers are a higher risk group, so they watch them more closely, limit CL to limit their risk, and charge higher rates to cover their possible losses.

Whether they are interested in migrating you to better terms depends on their marketting and business strategy, since they may just be happy with you under the terms originally offered. Household has historically acted as a lender to subprime consumers, so there may not be much farther for you to go with them.

It might be more productive to use the positive credit history you are creating to open accounts with better terms with other companies. You are an opportunity for new business to them, instead of a possibility of increased risk and decreased return.
