Why would anyone with good CRs and FICO apply for a Discover card? There are better rewards programs around, better interest calculations, plus wider acceptance, etc. with MC and Visa. Can't figure it out.
I'm guessing the ONLY reason people apply for Discover is for the bt offers, aside from that - I totally agree.

Re: Re: Why Discover? I rarely use it... I DID USE IT FOR BT'S...but the last time I did I got some ATTITUDE FROM DISCOVER SECURITY!!! I paid it in full before the BT ever hit...I have used it for a total of about $300.00 this year...probably won't use it much more... F.Y.I~~THE BT FEE IS NOW $50.00...THEY MAY OR MAY NOT WAIVE IT!!!

Well, Sams Clubs in NJ do not accept Visa/MC Yes they accept Wal-Mart and Sams store cards, but my purpose is to get a card that may be used elsewhere too ... generally speaking that is. I have a Macy's card, mostly in the sock drawer. Assuming your warning is directed at me -- I am not too bothered about cash rebates; that was not my primary purpose. The savings from Sams Club merchandise is worth enough for its annual membership fee of $35, at least in my case it is. If it isn't directed at me specifically .... point noted, and I agree.
