Hi CNetters,

Just wondering if Macy's will re-open my closed acct., since it was closed by credit grantor due to several 90 day lates. But the balance is $0 and status is paid/paying as agreed? Would it be the same tradeline or would it be a new tradeline. Ideally I would like to keep the lengthy tradeline going back to 94'. Does anyone have any idea on this matter? Thanks!

It depends in part how long it's been closed but no one here can do better than offer an educated guess. Why not call and get it from the horse's mouth? If the first cra says no ask to speak to a supvr. Or, try planetfeedback.com.

    My 0 cents worth.

p.s. - if you're credit house is a bit messy, it might be beneficial to straighten it up first in case they pull you're credit before deciding.

Thanks for your input zerodown. I will eventually call Macy's but I just wanted to get other's opinion before I hear that "I'm sorry, but we hate you and don't want to ever do business with you EVER AGAIN! Thank you for calling Macy's. Have a good life"

info provided by kbanger (where ever he may be), call 800-456-9529 ask for ext 38257 . Brian Glardon is suppose to be a fair guy. I wouldn't count on it. I personally cant stand MACY's or FACS GROUP(their credit adminastrator)
good luck let us know what happens.

Usually, you will find that the worrying about it is worse than the answer. If they say "bug off" at least you can take that mental energy you would have wasted fretting and devote it to moving ahead (or at least fantasizing about revenge!)(NO not blowing up a store, becoming a billionaire and mentioning in every press release why Macy's sucks.)

What if 14 people here say "no sweat, go for it" and then you get turned down? Will you then be crushed for life? What if "14 people say "They'll stake you through the heart." You going to then not do it and wonder the rest of your life? What if it's 7 and 7. Then what, commit hari-kari because of the stress? Course I'm being a bit dramatic but asking what you're chances are is pretty useless. OTOH, making the decision to do it and then asking for advice on how to maximize your results - now there's an attitude.

I tried to reach Brian Glardon at that ext. #, but it did not work, so I was transferred to another agent. She re-opened my acct., but with just a 400.00 cl. Oh well, better than nothing. Probably in 3 mths. I'll call to ask for a cl increase and maybe hit up for a removal of some lates. We'll see. Wonder if they just did a hard inquiry on my CR to re-open my acct.?
