Finally got a psuedo collection off of my credit report. It was for Credit Management in Tx. They said I owed a Time Warner Bill- I am a current customer!. Turns out it was a mistake by Time Warner from my old account which was added to my new one. However the CA would not take it off sayig that I owed THEM $10 for the time.. LMAO! Disputed- came off and Experian went up 5 points. SMall but encouraging!

I also am currently trying to get a measley $76 Time Warner bill removed. Credit Management is the collection agency as well. I sent Credit Management a validation letter (actually two of them months apart). Here's my question to you: Do you know if Credit Management is bound by law to respond to me, or do I need to send a bunch of validation letters to the Credit Reporting Agency? I thought you might know this. Even if you don't: Thanks anyway.

Congrats, Tina! Five points is five points closer and could put you over the edge on getting approved or declined. I wouldn't sneeze at any amount!

Great job, Tina! It's a step in the right direction.

    GABOOZ,
    Validation - to CA
    Dispute - to CRA

Yes, they must respond to you within a certain time frame and note on the credit report that you are disputing the debt. In the meantime you can dispute directly with the CRA. If they CRA doesn't hear back from the CA w/i 30 days, they're obligated to remove the entry.

Try not to flood the CRA, else they may deem your dispute "frivolous".

    Congrats Tina!

I just had CMI taken off my Experian....well, they actually changed it to a positive regular account with 10 months "never-late" history. Maybe you should have asked for that because my score went up 11 points on Ex LOL (Petting CMI "Good collection company. Heel! Roll over! Make dfwgt's credit report look better with another positive tradeline!").

I'm still waiting for it to fall off EQX. Only a matter of time, CMI didn't respond to validation and 15 days passed Tuesday for Estoppel...
