    Mindy,
When I applied for my citi cards I had applied for them within a few days of each other (AA and Select Platinum). When I called to see if I had been approved for one the csr told me I got both of them and right then asked me if I'd prefer to combine them. I didn't do it (I want the mileage but don't like the int. rate) but she gave me the option right away. You could call probably call tomorrow and just combine them. That way you won't have two new accounts ever report to the Credit Bureaus...just the one combined. Remember, every new account brings your score down a bit until they age some.

    Good luck!

Mist, Thanks for the info I think I'll call tommorow and combine as I don't use the miles I just got the aa card because I was told it's the easiest to get. What are other differences between the card?

    Mindy,
Which other Citi card did you get? If it was the one you posted for $3300 credit limit it must not have been the Platinum Select. I can only give you the comparisons with the:

Citi AAdvantage Select Platinum World which has no balance transfer promo and an interest rate of 16.9% (YUK!) but you get 7,500 AAdvantage miles with first purchase.

Citi Platinum Select which has a 9mo no fee balance transfer of 0% and a goto rate of 12.49% (was 12.99% but they just dropped it 1/4 point with Fed reduction).

Now, here's an idea if it's true they didn't give you the Platinum for that second card you just applied for. Ask to combine and upgrade to the Platinum Select OR wait for about 3 to 6 months and try to upgrade on merit (payment history) and then combine.

Let us know how it works out, OK?

    Mindy,
What will you be doing? Will you be combining the two AA cards into one with larger cl or are you going to combine all three to one Citi Select?

Mist I just have the 2 cards now #1 card aa card upgraded today, now a plat select cl 6000 #2 card aa card 3000cl. Plan on calling tommorow and combining the newest card to the plat select account to make 1 card with 9000cl.

got the idea here. I figured instead of asking for cl increases i'll just upgrade combine and reapply.

    More power to you!

To combine the accounts you only need to call Customer Service (CS), but since the CS database is updated on Sunday nights, they won't have access to your new account until Monday morning.

    Keep us posted,
