Folks, this is unbelievable! We've applied three times between the two of us within the past 90 days or so for the Amex Business Capital Line, all three declined. Found out it is the hardest of the lines to get and that the card accounts tend to be easier. One of us applied for the OPEN Membership Rewards Business Card (Not the green, gold or platinum, it's in their business list.) The other applied for plain old personal Optima Platinum. OPEN Membership Rewards was online approval about 2 weeks ago, but no info regarding CL. Optima was the "we'll let you know" message. We finally got the CL info on the phone today.... Optima - $10K (Increased from $3K immediately over phone by New Accounts CSR without an inquiry. She said the lines are assigned by computer and they can often do something within the first 30 days. Good info to know.) 0% Purchases 6 mos. OPEN Membership Rewards $30K - Highest starting line by far. 10.74 APR Purchases, 9.99 BT Life, $75 annual fee Now, here's the scoop. Both pulled EQ, no derogs - Optima - Score 700 - 23% Utilization - 3 Inquiries OPEN Membership Rewards - Score 685 - 48% Utilization - 6 Inquiries Obvious biggest factor, we have only been AMEX members since Feb 2002, but have spent approx $125K with them since then. (Almost all on charge cards, not revolving.) And as you guys can see, our scores are NOT super high. Moral - If you've got a business and can run a lot of your expenses through AMEX, they'll definitely come through with some nice lines. And you don't have to have superprime scores to get them. And since this is a business line, it won't appear on our personal reports. Hooray! Thanks to all of you for all the great help and info over the past 10 months that have made this possible. AND THEN THERE IS "GEORGE"...3 YEARS STILL WAITING~~~ I CAN'T EVEN GET THEM TO INCREASE IT $500 TO "ROUND IT OFF"...
Poor, poor George! He never gets any R-E-S-P-E-C-T!! Anyhoo, is this the link: https://www66.americanexpress.com/s...4560000000ed1c3531fd5ba9\1&bos=b&ct=54&iep=35 I ask because hubby will need to follow in your footsteps come Jan. 2003 and don't want to waste inquiries.
Dem- congrats on the BIG line I like Amex more than the others - and those membership rewards add up fast!
Yeah Mark, they sure do. We've linked all the accounts to the same rewards account. Might as well get something neat out of this. Leaning toward a cruise to Alaska right now. DemPooches
Too cold and the women wear too many clothes. I like the Caribbean, Belize or someplace warm. Charlie
I agree GEORGE, but it depends on where you go. Some of it is too touristy or crowded. St. Kitts is like a small Hawaii except for the crowds. Charlie
