It's interesting that this online acronym came about because years ago every time you saw an ad for a car, not only was the gas mileage displayed prominently, it was usually one of the features of the ad. And in television or radio ads, there was always a fast-spoken disclaimer, "Your mileage may vary". I was thinking about it just now, and it occurred to me I haven't seen gas mileage even displayed on any car ad I've seen in the last few years. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a regional thing?

Re: Re: Ymmv After the MPG, it went to "you can go 400 miles on a tank of gas." Of course, they never said how big the gas tank was. That's what I always thought was funny. What do I care if I go 400 miles or 350 miles? I'm more worried about MPG. But I guess some were worried about range. I remember there was an ad for a luxury car--a Cadillac, I think. It was advertising 400 miles per tank. I said to my husband "I wonder how much room a 40 gallon tank takes?" I figured 10 MPG at 40 gal is 400 miles. So is 40 MPG at 10 gal. But they weren't talking MPG. only range.
